Ford EcoSport took off in India in a big way. The car received a huge response from the market and the booking period exceeded the expectation and thought of anyone planning to buy the car. Ford also removed certain features from the car like the key boot release to cater the demands. Ford EcoSport now carries a waiting period of 13months! Yes, that is more than a year.

Well now, to take advantage of the situation, Ford has increased the price of EcoSport by as much as Rs. 75,000. Ford is also offering huge discounts to the customers who cancel the bookings to buy the other offerings from Ford such as Fiesta, Figo and the likes.

Ford received huge bookings when it was launched and racked up to almost 60,000 bookings. Ford has already delivered up to 50 percent of the booking numbers. Now that Ford has increased the price of the car, it is being said that the American giant has not covered the customers who have booked the car against any price hike.

Now with the New Year, customers who have already booked the car will have to shell a lot more. It is being reported that Ford has increased the price from Rs 59,000 to 75,000 across its variants. When launched, the car was offered at an introductory price, now that the Ford EcoSport has already become an established name, Ford swelled the price of the EcoSport by a good amount.

Ford Motor Company has explained the long waiting period by saying that it is unable to meet the unpredictable demand in the country. Launched in last year, Ford EcoSport has made ripples in the industry and has jumped over many other competitors to become the number one in the market.
