Ford, the American carmaker teased its new compact SUV, Ford EcoSport Storm for the Brazilian market, which is available with the four-wheel-drive system (4WD). Further, some of the spy images of the car have also been surfaced online, which clearly reveals some vital information about it.
The leaked images of the Ford EcoSport Storm confirms the styling tweaks shown in the teaser. The compact SUV looks rugged from the outset with an all-new black coloured F-150 Raptor type grille with ‘Storm’ badging. The redesigned projector headlights with LED DRL, sculpted bonnet, black roof rails and new 17-inch alloy wheels are the major changes noticed outside.
Inside the new variant of Ford EcoSport, it features dual-tone finish with orange and grey colours. The grey finished dashboard features AC controls, information system and a 7.0inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Besides the visual changes noticed from the spy images and teaser, the all-new Brazilian-spec Ford EcoSport Storm gets a 4x4 system. The four-wheel-drive system is coupled with a 2.0-litre Direct Flex engine that develops a maximum power output of 176 bhp against a peak torque of 221 Nm. It also comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine option with four-wheel-drive which produces a maximum power output of 170 bhp against a peak torque of 202 Nm. For transmission purpose, the engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
On the other hand, the Indian-spec Ford EcoSport offers a new 123 bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 100 bhp, 1.5-litre diesel unit. As of now, the Storm variant of Ford EcoSport is not likely to come to India.
