Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition images, showing its exterior and interior have been leaked suggesting an imminent launch. The special edition model was seen parked inside a dealer stockyard. Ford has not made any official announcement about the special edition model as of yet. Ford is expected to position the special edition model below the Ford EcoSport S variant which is priced at Rs 11.38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
As can be seen in the Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition images, it gets a host of cosmetic tweaks over the regular model. The special edition model gets additional elements such as black anti-glare hood glare and black graphics on the sides as well as on the tailgate. Faux air inlets, black applique on the front bumper, Thunder branding, 17-inch alloy wheels finished in black wrapped around Bridgestone Ecopia tyres and a black spare wheel cover have been equipped for a rugged look.
In addition to the above styling bits, the special edition model also gets black finished outside rear view mirrors, radiator grille border, headlamp bezels, fog lamp housings, roof rails and roof that compliments the dual-tone exterior paint scheme well. As for the Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition interior it is also enveloped in a dual-tone interior colour theme which seems to be available in two options-black with beige and black with orange. The list of features on the special edition variant includes a passive keyless entry, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Details on the Ford EcoSport Thunder edition specifications are yet hazy. Talking of the regular model, it comes with three engine options- a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit. In terms of output, the 1.5-litre petrol unit makes 123 PS against 150 Nm torque and comes paired to five-speed manual unit along with an optional six-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre oil burner belts out maximum power of 100 PS along with 205 Nm torque and is coupled to a five-speed manual unit. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit comes only with a six-speed manual transmission.
