Joginder Singh, President & Managing Director, Ford India, accepted the awards from Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas at the Bloomberg TV-Autocar Awards 2014, held in Mumbai last evening.
"Being chosen as Car of the Year by the esteemed jury as well as consumers truly reflects how well the Ford EcoSport has resonated with the discerning people of the country. Special accolades as Best Value for Money and the SUV of the Year reinforces EcoSport’s unique position as a right-sized urban SUV that’s bursting with compelling choices in one smart package. The awards for Technology and Innovation and our EcoBoost engine made it a ceremony to remember, demonstrating our Go Further brand promise of Quality, Green, Safe and Smart attributes in our offerings," said Joginder Singh. "On behalf of the entire team of Ford, we are extremely grateful to the jury members and our customers for adding cheer to what's been a terrific year for the game-changing EcoSport."
EcoSport's attractive design, highly frugal and powerful engine options and value for money preposition have helped it do really great in the competitive compact SUV segment. The EcoSport didn't only challenge the compact SUVs like Renault Duster, its competitive pricing made it a good alternative to premium hatchbacks and compact saloons as well.
