Ford India seems to have taken the SUV infotainment features to an altogether different level. The global auto maker has now added its latest SYNC3 infotainment system on its flagship SUV, the Endeavour. With this latest inclusion, the SUV will now play Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. However, this latest feature will only make it to the high-end Titanium variant only. The other Trend models will continue to be built with SYNC2 infotainment system.
The SYNC3 infotainment system offers many new features over the older versions. The inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will enables the users to get an access to their smartphone apps through wireless technology. The latest infotainment system can run apps like Google maps, music, phone calls, messages, etc. on its screen. It is also capable of getting over the air updates through WiFi technology. The Ford also claims that SYNC3 will get a more powerful and more responsive computing system, thanks to its updated processor over its older versions.
Having said that, even though the latest infotainment system offers vibrants features, it turns out to be equally versatile, owing to the fact that it has adopted several features from its predecessors. Features like emergency assistance (which calls any emergency services on an event of accident and the likes), climate control can be directly accessed from the latest infotainment, without much of a hassle.
However, according to many business analyst, the move of including latest infotainment only in its flagship SUV can possibly be an attempt to draw more attention to the Endeavour Titanium SUV from the 2016 version of Toyota Fortuner, that does not feature the latest SYNC3 infotainment, thus failing to run Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
