Ford India has revealed the technical specifications and features of the Figo Aspire compact sedan, which is all set to launch next month in the country. The company, on the sidelines of Figo Aspire media drive, also revealed that it would launch 3 fresh products within next 9 months, which include Figo facelift and new-gen Endeavour SUV. For those asking, Ford Figo Aspire can be booked at any company dealership at a token amount of Rs. 51,000.
The Figo Aspire is a sub 4-meter sedan based on the standard hatchback. It would come with 20 storage areas, leather seats, and mobile docking charger. The sedan would have a boot space of 359 litres. The American automaker also revealed that Figo Aspire would have dual front SRS airbags as standard safety feature. Moreover, the top-end variant would come loaded with best-in-segment 6 airbags. It would measure 3995mm in length, 1695mm in width, 1525mm in height, while having a wheelbase of 2491mm. The ground clearance of Figo Aspire would be 174mm with a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres and turning radius of 4.9 meters. It would have a kerb weight ranging between 995-1048 kgs.
Mechanically, Ford Figo Aspire would come in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with a total of 3 engines. The base and mid-level petrol variants would be powered by a 1.2L petrol engine, which would produce a maximum power of 86.8bhp and peak torque of 112Nm. It would be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while delivering a fuel efficiency of 18.6kmpl. The range-topping petrol variant would come loaded with a 1.5-litre engine, which would churn out 110.5bhp of top power and 136Nm of peak torque. It would be coupled with a 6-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT), while returning a mileage of 17kmpl. The diesel variants would be in-housing a 1.5L motor, which is retuned to get 98.6bhp of power and 215Nm of torque. This engine would be linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while it would provide a sensational fuel economy of 25.83kmpl.
The exact launch date of Ford Figo Aspire is not known yet, but as media drives have commenced, we expect it to launch in August 2015. It would lock horns with the other compact sedans in the country like Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest. Expect the pricing to be in a domain of Rs. 5-8 Lakhs (Ex.
