Ford India would officially launch the Figo Aspire compact sedan on August 12, 2015 in the country. The bookings for the sedan has already started at company dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 30,000. The media drives of the sedan has already been concluded and the variant detail alongwith features and engines have also been revealed. Ford Figo Aspire would join the existing crop of compact sedans in India which include Maruti Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest.
Talking about the Figo Aspire, it would be offered in four trim levels - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. The sedan would be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. Just so you know, Ford Figo Aspire would be the only car in its segment to come with dual front airbags as standard safety feature across the entire variant line-up. Furthermore, it would also be the only sedan in India to get side and curtain airbags. As for other features, the Figo Aspire would boast of first-in-segment MyFord Dock, which would enable drivers to store, mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system.
Mechanically, the Figo Aspire would come with three engines: a a new 1.2L, 4-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine, a 1.5L, 4-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder TDCi diesel engine. The diesel motor would churn out a maximum power of 98.5bhp, while mated with a 5-speed manual transmission and returning an ARAI Specified mileage of 25.8kmpl. The smaller 1.2L petrol engine would develop a top power of 87bhp and fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl (ARAI Specified). It would be linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Coming to the range-topping 1.5L petrol motor, it would generate a massive 110bhp, while ebing coupled with a 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. It would provide a fuel economy of 17.2kmpl.
