Ford India is gearing up to export its most sought after car, the EcoSport, to the European market from its manufacturing facility in India. The EcoSport is supposed to get launched in the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland around June 2014. However, passing the strict safety norms in the European markets is not everyone's cup of tea where history of Indian cars have not been good so far.

However, to ensure and comply the EcoSport with safety regulations in the new markets, Ford has made approximately 300 changes to the Indian EcoSport. Surprisingly, apart from the basic changes like left hand drive layout, Anti-lock Braking System as standard and a full set of airbags, the structure of the European-bound EcoSport will also be more stronger than the Indian version.

Ford EcoSport already bags four star on Euro-NCAP ( European new cars assessment programme) safety test programme which it attended last year, while with this major change to its structure, the EcoSport is highly likely to get the 5 out of 5 stars this time.
