Ford India has reported to have clocked total sales of 15,282 units in the month of July 2014, which translates to a growth of 23.86 per cent. The U.S-based automaker had sold 12,338 units in the same month last year.
In terms of domestic market however, the company registered a 3.49 per cent decline in sales at 7,592 units as compared to 7,867 units sold in the year ago period. The company’s exports showed an impressive 71.99 per cent sales growth at 7,690 units in the month of July 2014, when compared to 4,471 units shipped in corresponding period last year.
Commenting on the sales figures, Vinay Piparsania, executive director of marketing, sales and service, Ford India remarked, “There are several indicators to suggest a gradual revival in customer sentiment in the past few months, including cues from the stock market and a steady improvement in manufacturing index.”
“As we approach the festive season, we expect a significant increase in footfalls at Ford showrooms across the country. We have improved supplies to expedite deliverers for all our models, including the best-selling EcoSport, to meet the expected rise in demand in the coming months.” Piparsania further added.
