Ford India have reported to have clocked an increase in total sales - domestic wholesales and exports - at 13,297 units in the month of April 2014. The company had sold a total of 7,270 units in the year ago period. In terms of domestic sales alone, Ford India clocked total sales of 6,651 units, which translates into a growth of 66.15 per cent. In the month of April 2013, the company had registered total sales of 4,003 units. In terms of exports, the U.S-based automaker, shipped out 6,646 units as compared to 3,267 units in the same month previous year.
Commenting on the sales performance, Mr Vinay Piparsania, Ford India executive director of marketing, sales and service remarked, “Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April”
“In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energise the Indian automotive sector.” Piparsania further said.
