Ford India registers sales growth of 57 per cent, thanks to EcoSport

Snapshot: Ford India registers growth of 57 per cent in its sales for March 2014 in India

Ford India registered a growth of 57 per cent on year on year basis with cumulative sales of 11,805 units last month. Unsurprisingly, the major chunk of Ford's total sales comes from the company's most successful product, the EcoSport which sells in more than 5000 units a month. Ford's domestic sales stood at 6,356 units for the last month while exports closed at 5,449 units.

“Cautious is how we should define the first quarter of 2014. The excise duty reduction has definitely been a positive step. As India gets set to vote, we look forward to such industry-friendly initiatives being sustained to support the important automotive sector,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.

The company has been currently offering Figo hatchback, Fiesta sedan, EcoSport and Endeavour in India. Except the EcoSport, all other models are due to reach in their next-generation avatar. Thankfully, the company is about to launch the facelift of Fiesta in India which we expect to be followed by the Endeavour later.
