Ford India sales rise 69 per cent in February

Ford India has recorded a growth of 69 per cent in its total sales of the last month in India. The company has sold 12,253 units including domestic sales and exports in February 2014, which stood at 7,253 units in the same period last year. In an elaborate way, domestic sales in last month increased to 6,799 units from 4,490 units in the corresponding month last year, while, the commencement of EcoSport’s export to European market brought in an almost twofold increase in total exports which is gained to 5,454 units besides 2,763 units last year.   

The American automaker has registered a good growth in relation to the sluggish condition of the Indian automobile market in present time. However, major share in total sales comes from the victorious EcoSport which outsells any other car in its segment. Even, the skyward export chart is also courtesy of the same model. To further enhance the sales and service network in India, the company recently inaugurated several new outlets in tier-2 and tier-3 cities touching the milestone of total 304 outlets across 164 cities in the country.

Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service said- “At Ford India, we continue to go further for our customers with enhanced product offerings. New pricing and features of Ford Classic and Wi-Fi capability on the Ford Figo have received an encouraging response from customers, alongside continued demand for the all-new Ford EcoSport. The recent reductions in excise duty should provide a positive message to customers and encourage them to make the most of the outstanding value being offered on our smart, safe and fuel efficient products”.
