Ford India will unveil the Mustang coupe, in India today, which is currently in its 6th generation, marking the official entry of the muscle car in the country. Though this classic American Muscle car is offered in two body type fastback and convertible. It is for the first time that the new Ford Mustang is developed as right-hand-drive vehicle as well, and will be imported from the United States in the fully-built (CBU) form.
The new Ford Mustang flaunts traditional HID headlamps and LED tri-bar taillamps with sequential turn signals as standard exterior features. In addition, the American automaker offers a long list of personalization and customization options. Talking about the safety features, it would boast of the contemporary Blind Spot Information System, which detects a vehicle at a blind spot via a radar and alerts with an indicator in the appropriate exterior mirror.
As for features, the Mustang sports car would come loaded with a SYNC 3 infotainment system, automatic wipers, start/stop button and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, a track app would be offered which would be at the helm of launch control and provide the performance related data on the instrument cluster's 4.2-inch multi information display.
Speaking of the mechanical, in the international market Ford Mustang comes loaded with a 3.7-litre Ti-VCT V6 engine, a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine and the flagship 5.0-litre V8 engine. The 3.7-litre V6 engine produces 297 bhp of top power and 380 Nm of peak torque, while the EcoBoost mill churns out 306 bhp and 434 Nm. Coming to the 5.0L powertrain, which powers the Mustang GT, it delivers 430 bhp of maximum power and 542 Nm of torque. And this engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 2015 Ford Mustang GT price is expected to be range between Rs. 50 – Rs 60 Lakh (Ex. Showroom).
