The 2015 Ford Mustang has bagged the Best Production Car Of The Year award at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show. The next generation model of the famous American pony car is not even launched as yet but the modernistic and captivating approach in its design bound the 30 prestigious auto designers to handover the award to the Mustang. The other cars in the competition were Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Lexus RC-F and the upcoming BMW M4.
The new Ford Mustang, which is in 6th generation, is extensively developed over its predecessor. The exterior is considerably redesigned alongwith more space inside the cabin. The major changes on technical hand are the new suspension setup at rear and introduction of efficient, yet powerful, 2.3-litre EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine. Ford has showcased the Mustang coupe in Triple Digit yellow color beside the Mustang convertible at the prestigious Show.
Ford will launch the Mustang on 17th April 2014 as the term 'Pony Car' will have successfully completed 40 years in the market on the same day. Initially, the model will get introduced in the US market which has to be followed by the European and other global markets on a later stage. Interestingly, the new Mustang is likely to get featured at the upcoming 2014 AutoExpo India as the American automaker is contemplating the possibilities of Mustang in India.
