Ford, the North American automaker made its comeback into the growing market of mid-size pickups with the all-new Ford Ranger. The vehicle was previously discontinued in the North American market, though it continues to be retailed globally. The model was showcased at NAIAS in Detroit, which is the facelifted version of the existing model.
The Ford Ranger facelift has already been spied before, which reveals the improved and sharp designs of the pickup. The model last received a major update in 2015, since then it has been due for an update. The 2018 model receives new LED DRLs and a restyled fog lamp housing clusters. The major change noticed is the removal of a chunk of chrome from the bumper. Apart from these changes, rest of the body looks largely similar to the current generation model.
The 2018 Ford Ranger is now offered in three cab styles, which are the regular, super and double cab. The double cab variant gets an extra row of seats and comes with four doors.
The refreshed model of the Ford Ranger is powered by a 2.3-litre Ecoboost turbo-petrol engine. However, the current generation model has the option of 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre turbo-diesel engines.
Ford is unlikely to introduce the next-gen Ranger to the Indian market. But, it is planning to bring in the updated version of Ford Endeavour in the country. Apart from this, Ford is gearing up to launch the refreshed versions of Mustang, Aspire and Figo.
