Ford India has been through a string of low figures in the sales chart. The company has been averaging a sales number of just around 8,000 a month during the past year. However, the company has managed to sell 8,769 cars in the domestic market and exported 7,756 units in the month of September 2017.
The sales graph for Ford India is on the rise as the company had managed to sell 7,777 units in the domestic market in August 2017. Although the sales are getting steady now, the year-on-year comparison shows that the figures are still low compared to the same month last year. Back in September last year, the company has sold over 9,000 cars in India and had exported 13,000.
It can be considered that Ford India is delayed with the launch of the facelifted EcoSport. It would have been great if the car was launched before the festive season as this could boost the performance in the domestic market. This may work against the company’s plans and affect the future performance.
Presently, Ford is working on exploring options with Mahindra Group in order to initiate a strategic alliance that will benefit both the collaborating companies. The company has the Figo, Aspire as well as the EcoSport as the volume churner in India, which has been the case for a couple of years now.
