The Ford’s Fusion might prove to be the most game-changing product that ever rolled out of North America. The mid-size sedan comes with a pedestrian detection technology and other innovative features like hands free parallel and perpendicular parking. The Fusion offers three EcoBoost engine choices and two variants of hybrids, Ford Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and chief technical officer, Global Product Development said, “Fusion offers people a lot more car – including helpful technology, beautiful design and a more rewarding driving experience than other midsize sedans”

The Fusion V6 Sport, Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi, and Fusion Platinum offer three different flavours of the mid size sedans to the customers to choose from. The V6 Sport is powered by a 2.7 litre EcoBoost engine that produces 325bhp and 475Nm of torque. In addition, the Fusion V6 Sport offers a continuously controlled damping for real-time suspension road inputs. A pothole detection feature also adjusts the shock absorbers to reduce the severity of impact.

While the Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi are plug-in hybrids, the electrified car also offer EcoGuide system that provides real-time information to the drivers that help get best fuel economy. The Fusion Energi features a 7.6Kwh lithium-ion battery that can travel for 19 miles on electric power. When the battery gets depleted, the car can automatically switch to the 2.0-liter gasoline engine. Recharging the Fusion Energi takes 2.5 hours and the car is smart and knows when to begin charging taking into account the price of electricity. In addition, it can also precondition the cabin temperature before drivers leave to save fuel. Both electric versions of the Fusion deliver impressive overall performance where the electric-only speed is limited up to 85mph. There’s a regenerative braking system that also captures about 95 percent of the energy to recharge the battery that would have otherwise got lost through heat while braking.

The Fusion Platinum is designed to deliver even greater level of refinement, it’s powered by a 2.0 liter EcoBoost and an all-wheel drive train. The car is outstanding is the interior department and has instrument and door trim panels that come wrapped in cocoa leather, while the steering wheel is finished in venetian leather.

Other technology updates that make the Fusion one of the most feature-rich, include a SYNC 3 infotainment system, voice recognition, Lane-keeping assist, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert etc.
