The American automaker Ford is set to launch its all-new Compact Utility Vehicle Figo Cross in India tomorrow. Earlier, the model was spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads with camouflage. The crossover is expected to be slotted below the facelifted EcoSport.
The Ford Figo crossover gets a bold rugged look; updated with additional body cladding and refreshed stylish cues. The front profile updates include a hexagonal black mesh grille, all new headlamps with LED DRLs and redesigned bumpers. At the rear, the car gets refreshed bumpers and smoked tail lights. The car will ride on 15-inch twin-spoke black alloy wheels. The safety features will include six airbags and ABS along with ESP (electronic stability programs) in the top-end trims of the Figo Cross.
Talking about the interiors, the Ford Figo Cross will get a brand new cabin with updated features and premium leather upholstery. The dashboard will be featured with Ford’s latest floating type SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system, borrowed from the EcoSport facelift. It will also be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On the mechanical front, the Figo Cross is expected to be equipped with an all-new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol unit that is capable of producing a maximum power of 90 bhp. It is also likely to get a 1.5-litre diesel engine that develops a peak power of 100 bhp. As far as the transmission option is concerned, the engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Ford Figo crossover is expected to be priced at Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant. Once launched, it will go head-to-head with the other hatchback-based crossovers like the VW Polo Cross, Hyundai i20 Active and Toyota Etios Cross.
