Fiat India, it seems, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it's upcoming crossover Avventura is sure shot success. The company has roped in Bollywood Starlet and Reality Show Big Boss 7 winner - Gauhar Khan as the its new brand ambassador. The actress recently confirmed the same via her Twitter handle as she shot for the upcoming TVC of the yet-to-be-launched Avventura with tag line - 'Boring is Dead, It's time to Live Alive with Avventura'.
The Avventura crossover was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo as a concept and the spy-shots of the production version have also been up on web as the company had been testing the vehicle for quite some time. It is almost certain that Fiat will launch Avventura crossover in the first week of October and the advance bookings have already been flagged off by the company across its dealerships. In external appearance, the Avventura is quite identical to the Punto EVO as far as front fascia is concerned but the Fiat engineers have worked their heart out to distinguish it from the hatch by providing sportier elements in form of externally-mounted spare wheel, roof rails, diamond-cut alloy wheels and nudge guards and an excessive ground clearance of 205mm (20mm bigger than that of Punto EVO).
The interiors have directly been chipped in from the Punto EVO and there are a few noticeable changes. Fiat Avventura would be presented in both petrol and diesel guises with company deciding against incorporating the smaller 1.2L motor with the crossover. Instead, it would be offered with a 1.4L petrol engine which would belt out 89bhp of top power and 115Nm of torque. The diesel variants would be powered by a 1.3L Multi-jet diesel engine which would generate a maximum power output of 92bhp and peak torque performance of 209Nm. It would be locking horns with the Volkswagen CrossPolo and Toyota Etios Cross in the Indian auto industry with an expected price in range of around Rs. 6-8 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
