Gautam Singhania is a known name among top the industrialists and an equally known name in the Indian motorsports arena. Co-founder of the Super Car Club (SCC), he actively participates in activities to promote the popularity of motorsports and supercars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, BMW and Mercedes, in India. In a recent such activity, he won two races at the opening round of the 2014-15 NGK racing series, held at Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.
The opening round of the NGK Racing Series saw two interesting races- one being the UAE Touring cars and the other being the Clio Cup race-within-a-race. Supercars like McLaren, Porsche and Ferrari fought hard to achieve the top honours. But, it was Mr. Singhania who took the limelight away, by winning both the races in his Dragon Racing Ferrari ahead of Fred Fatien in the second place, and Bashar Mardini taking the third place in his Porsche.
Apart from winning this race, Mr. Singhania has many other achievements to his name. He recently won the 2014 Ferrari Pirelli Open held at Brands Hatch in Great Britain becoming the first and the only Indian to achieve this feat and also scored a podium finish in the Britcar Championship at Oulton Park. He also emerged as the winner in the amateur category of the All Stars European Drift Championship held in Malta in September 2012.
Apart from all the International achievements, Mr. Singhania is the pioneer of setting India’s first and only exclusive drifting car towards the end of 2013. The unveiling ceremony saw over 30 participants competing in the final which Mr. Singhania won by a point difference of 2.5. His Supercar club, Parx Super Car Club is promoting drifting as an auto sport in the country.
