General Motors India to hike prices by the new year

Snapshot: General Motors India will hike the prices of its car range from January 1, 2014

General Motors India to hike prices of its entire range of vehicles by up to Rs 10,000 by the new year. According to the company, this increment is a result of rising input costs and the new prices will be effective from January 1, 2014. 

Before General Motors, auto manufacturers including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Hyundai and Maruti-Suzuki have already announced a price hike from the coming year.

P Balendran, VP General Motors India said, "We plan to hike prices across our entire product portfolio by up to Rs 10,000 from January. This is due to cost pressure." 

British carmaker currently sells a wide range of cars in the country, ranging from INR 3.33 Lakhs Spark to INR 25.71 Lakhs SUV, Captiva.
