The New York Auto Show witnessed the unveiling of the Genesis New York Concept. It is an entry level sports concept by the luxury brand of Korean automobile manufacturer, Hyundai. The concept borrows the exterior cues from its big brothers, the G90 and the G80. Genesis New York Concept will take on the likes of the BMW 3-Series, Jaguar XE, Mercedes Benz C-Class and the Audi A4.
The exterior of the Genesis New York concept features sleek and aggressive appearance with sleek LED slatted head lamps and wide front grille. Keeping its focus on the design aspects, the company is also working on the Genesis hybrid. With long bonnet and short rear deck, the concept's design gives it classic luxury, but with its coupe-style window line, and recessed door handles gives it a more of a modern, sleek silhouette.
Inside, the concept features, four individually sculpted single seats (2+2 Seater configuration), wrapped in tan leather with with anthracite accents while sliced suede leather used on the headrest. The concept also features a 21-inch 4K floating, curved screen (made by LG) incorporates driver instruments housing multimedia functions and driver switches. Additionally, a 3D gesture-control sensor allows the operator to ‘throw over’ specific content from one area of the screen to another, raising the freedom for personalizing the display information.
Speaking of the engine spec, the Genesis New York Concept will draw its power from a 2.0 litre GDi engine that will be capable to deliver a power output 242 HP and a maximum torque of 353 Nm. The engine will be connected to an eight speed automatic transmission, giving drive to all-four wheels.
