Just before EICMA 2018 kicks off, Ducati unveiled the new Diavel 1260 and 1260 S variants at an event in Milan. The latest edition of this sport-cruiser boasts notable improvements that are mixed qualities of a cruiser and a street fighter.
The new Diavel delivers max power of 157 PS and 129 Nm of torque. These new variants will house the 1,262 cc Testastretta DVT motor taken from the XDiavel. Unlike the belt drive in the XDiavel, the Diavel 1260 gets a chain drive.
The new Ducati machines also offer a new aluminium swingarm and a new shorter trellis frame. However, the Diavel’s ergonomics remain the same.
The Diavel 1260 S variant will come with updated Brembo brakes with M50 callipers while the standard variant uses M4.32 units. This 1260 S version is fitted with the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) system. It will get a fully adjustable Ohlins inverted telescopic front fork. The feature list for the 1260 S also inclusive of Ducati Multimedia System, a special seat, machine finished wheels and DRL LED headlight.
The new Diavel 1260 breed look leaner with an impressive frame. They get all new fuel tank extensions, headlamp, cowl, exhaust canisters and radiators with integrated front indicators. The S variant stands out due to its contrast red trellis frame and new colour schemes.
An exclusive new feature in both variants is the Ducati Link app helping the rider to set IMU-enabled Ducati Electronic Package via a smartphone. The app controls the ABS, traction control, toggle ride modes and can record riding routes with speed data.
In India, the new Ducati will be launched by early 2019 and around the same time, both the bikes will be on sale globally. Prices would be revealed just ahead of the market launch.
