General Motors is going to voluntarily recall around 22,000 units of its Chevrolet Cruze model in the country, due to loss of ignition or engine stall problem at low vehicle speed. Chevrolet Cruze vehicles manufactured between model years 2009-11 are affected by this recall and the vehicles will be repaired free of charge at all General Motors' Service station across India.
Affected Chevrolet Cruze customers will be asked to contact their nearest Chevrolet service dealership for inspection with a prior appointment. The brand is working closely with its aftersales services network to make entire this exercise smooth with an option of pick up and drop to a residential address. The estimated time for the troubleshoot could be recommended repairs or replacement with an estimated time not more than one hour.
Speaking on this, Markus Sternberg, Vice President (Aftersales), General Motors India said,"We are committed to putting our customers at the center of everything we do and providing safe, high-quality vehicles. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction. This is a voluntary recall and, as far as we are aware, does not affect the safety of the vehicle but we want to make sure that our customers experience the right performance from their vehicles."
Customers are also requested to contact their nearest Chevrolet dealership to schedule an appointment for their vehicle inspection and correction.
