They set on this quest and used ‘VW Passat TDI Clean Diesel’ model for establishing this record. We have now come to know that they managed to set a record for the economic usage of fuel consumption.
They covered one thousand three hundred and seventy one KMs through forty eight states and their fuel consumption record was thirthy three point one KPL. The team driving ‘VW Passat TDI Clean Diesel’ was flagged off from the Volkswagen ‘Headquarters’ in ‘Hemdon, Virginia’ on June 7 and was able to complete the circuit and come back to the headquarters on June 24. The vehicle was driven by ‘Wayne Gerdes’ and also by Bon Winger’.
The Chief Executive Officer of ‘Volkswagen’ praised the drivers and said that it is a remarkable feat for a vehicle to cover the distance of ‘1371’ KMs using only one hundred and four point ninety four Gallons of petrol. The model used comes with an engine which is ‘turbocharged’ and has ‘direct injection’ and manual 6 Speed transmission. However, the company says that the actual consumption of fuel by ‘2013 Rassat TDI Clean diesel’ depends on the conditions of the roads and the expertise of the drivers. The company believes in ‘sustainable’ use of fuel and their policy is to satisfy the customers who are ‘eco conscious’. The Volkswagen organization itslef believes in ‘eco consciousness’ and their factories use procedures which keep this policy in mind. The journey which set the record was taken in ‘VW Passat TDI Clean Diesel’ is one attempt to make general public and customers aware of the use of clean fuel.
