Yesterday we showed you a glimpse of Harley’s new Low Rider S and now the same manufacturer has launched the 1200 Custom in the Indian market at INR 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Sitting alongside the Iron 883 and the Forty Eight, the new 1200 Custom has been placed in the Sportster family. It will be sold via the CKD (completely broke down) route and bookings for the same has already been commenced. Its assembly is been carried at the same plant where Harley-Davidson manufactures the Street 750 which is situated in Bawal, Haryana.

Now talking about the engine, the new 1200 Custom propels a 1200cc air-cooled V-twin engine that is good enough to produce 96Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed transmission and the power gets transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain drive mechanism. Looking at the over-all design, the new 1200 Custom does reminds of the SuperLow which has already been discontinued. With this new launch, the legendary American motorcycle maker now has 13 motorcycles in the portfolio, we expect the new Low Rider S to hit the Indian Streets very soon.
