Harley-Davidson, has had a wonderful beginning in India. Their plan to set up assembly plant in the country close to Delhi has been a master stroke and gives us an idea just how clear and sure the planning of Harley-Davidson was regarding the Indian market. The way Harley has designed and produced its Street 750 and that upcoming true blue segment, competition slayer, the Street 500 speaks volumes about their dedication towards the rising markets of South-East Asia.
Now, on a roll that Harley-Davidson is in India, it has gone ahead and further strengthened its market position by opening two more dealerships in India. With the opening of Diamond City Harley-Davidson in Surat, and Tusker Harley-Davidson’s second dealership in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the total number of Harley-Davidson dealerships in the country has risen to 17. While Tusker Harley-Davidson was among the first 5 dealerships to be opened in the country, Diamond City Harley-Davidson is the brand’s second location in the state of Gujarat, with the first being Nine Bridges Harley-Davidson in Ahmedabad which the company opened in 2012. Now, there are 17 authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships across India. The launch of these dealerships is a part of Harley-Davidson India’s strategic expansion plans as the company completes five years in the country. It aims to continue growing its dealer network and partnerships across the country in the coming year with a focus on expanding its presence in Tier I cities and foraying into newer Tier II cities.
