Hero MotoCorp has announced nominal price hike across its entire range. The homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer has increased pricing of the bikes and scooters by Rs 625. Hero MotoCorp says that decision behind this nominal price hike is the increased production cost of the two wheelers. However, the brand is confident that this nominal hike won’t affect sales.
While the hike amount varies for different models, the two-wheeler manufacturer has not disclosed the details. Presently, the company sells a wide range of bikes and scooters in the country market with pricing ranging between Rs 37,000 and around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, this comes as the second price revision of the year by Hero MotoCorp, as the brand increased pricing by around Rs 400 in January 2018.
Previously, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto too revised their product pricing across the range in the country. Now, with Hero MotoCorp, TVS and Bajaj announced price hike, other brand like Honda, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Yamaha too are expected hike pricing soon. Hero MotoCorp is currently gearing up to launch the sporty Xtreme 200R in India and this bike is going to bring freshness to the portfolio for sure.
Despite tough competition, Hero MotoCorp has been dominating the Indian two-wheeler market for quite long time. The brand has seen immense success here with the high selling Splendor series. Now, the brand aims to increase its market share in the premium segment and in the scooter category as well.
