Considered by many as the man who made sure that Hero continues to enjoy the top slot in the two-wheeler segment after its split from Honda in 2011, Anil Dua has decided to call it quits with Hero MotoCorp in order to do something "exciting" outside India. Dua will, however, continue serving Hero MotoCorp till June 24.

Confirming the development, Dua said, "I have accepted an exciting opportunity outside of the country to begin a new chapter in my professional career."

Pawan Munjal, MD and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, also praised Dua by giving him credit for doubling the sales figures and increasing the market share in the last 8 years. Anil Dua is an alumnus of IIT-Delhi and IIM-Ahmedabad. After Dua, the sales division will continue to be headed by A Srinivasu whereas the national marketing will be led by Sanjeev Shukla, while the national dealer development and after-sales service functions will remain with Ajay Dikshit and Rajesh Mukhija, respectively.
