Hero sold a total of 5,11,374 units in the month of July.
Hero Splendor became the most sold motorcycle in the Indian market.
Hero MotoCorp has sold 5,11,374 motorcycles in July 2019. As compared to July 2018, the Indian manufacturer witnessed a huge 22.9 percent YoY decline as, in July 2018, 6,63,283 bikes were sold. This largest two-wheeler maker in India collected a 33.83 percent market share as compared to July 2018.
Excluding Suzuki, no other two-wheeler manufacturer registered the positive sales in July owing to the current non-favorable market scenario. With over 1,79,000 units sold, the Hero Splendor won the title of most sold model in Hero’s portfolio whereas the recent 200cc models also performed well.
Hero Xpulse 200 and Hero Xpulse 200T recorded the sales of 2,530 units collectively whereas the naked streetfighter, Hero Xtreme 200R recorded 426 units. The Xtreme 200R saw a 55 percent increase in sales as compared to July 2018. Talking of the Hero Xtreme Sports and Xtreme 200S, these bikes recorded 1,596 units, cumulatively over 4,500 units.
The Hero Xpulse 200 price in India is Rs 97,000 which is highly competitive for the carb variant and Hero Xpulse 200 T price is Rs 94,000. On the contrary, the Xpulse 200 fuel-injected version price is Rs 1.05 lakh. Speaking of the Hero Xtreme 200S, it gives a tough competition to its rivals by a huge margin, available at a price of Rs 98,500 (all prices are ex-showroom).
These motorcycles use a 199.6cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke OHC engine that churns out a peak power of 18.4PS @8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 17.1Nm @6,500 rpm. The engine comes paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Hero Xpulse 200, Xpulse 200 T and Xtreme 200 features include a single-channel ABS system, LED headlamp setup, gear position indicator, and turn-by-turn navigation.
