Hero MotoCorp's iconic Splendor brand has completed 25 years. The leading bike manufacturer has launched a commemorative model to celebrate 25 years of Splendor brand on the Indian roads. Called the Splendor+ 25 Year Special Edition, the bike has been priced at Rs 55,856 (ex-showroom, Jamshedpur). As for the Hero Splendor price for the regular model, it costs slightly less than the 25-year special edition variant at Rs 54,856 (ex-showroom, Jamshedpur). The company is yet to make an official statement about the launch of celebratory edition.
The Hero Splendor+ 25 Years Special Edition gets additional styling bits such as 3D emblems all over the body and unique graphics. The visor on the bike features “Hero Splendor+ 25 Years Special Edition” sticker and new graphics on both sides. A 3D Hero logo can be seen on the fuel tank, whereas side panels come with “Splendor+” and “25 years Special Edition” 3D tags. The rear panel also gets the i3S (Idle Start Stop System) logo.
Adding a sporty flair to the celebratory edition are the graphics on the fuel tank, side and rear panels. Riders can charge their phone while on the go via the USB charger installed on the handlebar which comes with a lid to cover for protection from water during monsoons. As for the Hero Splendor+ 25 Years Special Edition specifications, it gets the 97.2 cc air-cooled, single cylinder OHC engine with a maximum power of 8.36 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
Transmission duties are handled by a four-speed constant mesh gearbox. It additionally comes with a Kick and Self-start system. The braking set-up on the bike comprises 130 mm drum units at the front as well as rear. In terms of safety, it gets Hero MotoCorp’s CBS tech and Integrated Braking system as standard. Akin to the regular version, the special edition model also gets alloy wheels with a distinctive black finishing. The suspension system on the special edition version includes the telescopic hydraulic unit at front and swing arm with 5-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear.
