Hero MotoCorp - the homegrown motorcycle manufacturer has kept the enthusiasts wondering about its upcoming Hero Xpulse 200 till now. A tonne of spy shots, production-spec images and videos of test mules of the Xpulse 200 have set the internet abuzz. Finally, Hero will be launching both the machines on May 1, this year. The Hero Xpulse 200 was first showcased at the EICMA 2017 and the brand came out with its touring friendly sibling, the Hero Xpulse 200T at the EICMA 2018.
Both the motorcycles are powered by the same single cylinder, air-cooled, 200 cc motor. This motor also powers the Hero Xtreme 200R. The motor is capable of churning out 19 bhp of peak power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque. As reported earlier, the motor will be equipped with fuel-injection technology for enhanced refinement and efficiency. The motor is married to a 5-speed gearbox. Hero will certainly tune the motor differently for Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T, keeping in mind the different feel and character of the machines.
Speaking about the looks, the Hero Xpulse 200's off-roader look is complemented by a small smoked windscreen, upswept exhaust muffler, metal engine bash plate, knuckle guards, spoke wheels, dual-tone colour scheme and front suspension fork gaiters. The Hero Xpulse 200T almost looks like its sibling but it gets a touring friendly single piece sear, small luggage rack at the back, upright riding triangle and runs on alloy wheels.
The Hero Xpulse 200 will be equipped with 21 inchers at the front and 19 inchers at the back shod with Ceat Gripp tyres. On the other hand, the Hero Xpulse 200T will run on 17 inchers at both front and back shod with MRF Nylogrip Zapper and MRF REVZ-S, respectively. Also, the motorcycles are packed with features like digital instrument cluster, turn-by-turn navigation, under-seat USB charging port and LED DRLs. The expected price of both the motorcycles is around Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.30 lakh. The Hero Xpulse 200 will cost a bit higher than its touring friendly sibling, the Hero Xpulse 200T. Key rivals are Bajaj Pulsar 220F and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
