Hero MotoCorp launched the sporty and premium Xtreme 200S at Rs 98,500 (ex-showroom). The Hero Xtreme 200S is a faired city motorcycle, based on the HX 250R concept. Hero showcased the HX 250R concept at 2014 Delhi Auto Show for the first time. A video showcasing the Xtreme 200S was also surfaced online recently. Hero MotoCorp also launched the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T today.

The Xtreme 200S is powered by a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder and air-cooled engine. The engine is capable of churning out 18.4 bhp of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and it sits in a diamond type frame. The suspension duties are carried by 37mm telescopic forks at the front and 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Hero has equipped the Xtreme 200S with a single-channel ABS unit and the braking duties are carried by a 276 mm single disc at the front and 220 mm single disc at the rear. The Xtreme 200 runs on 17-inch alloy wheels at both front and back. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1337 mm and the seat height is 795 mm, which will certainly help the shorter riders to easily navigate through the city traffic.

The Hero Xtreme 200S has a kerb weight of 149 kg which is a welcome stat for city riding. The motorcycle has a fuel capacity of 12.5-litre. The motorcycle features a single unit LED headlamps and LED tail light as well. Xtreme 200S has a very informative digital instrument cluster that has Bluetooth connectivity, gear position indicator, trip meter and a service reminder. The Hero Xtreme 200S is available in three paint schemes, namely - Sports Red, Mapple Brown and Panther Black. Xtreme 200S will replace the Hero Karizma ZMR. Hero MotoCorp is working towards updating its product portfolio in India and the Xtreme 200S seems capable of driving sales numbers for the homegrown brand.
