In an incident that happened yesterday (21st January, 2016), which cannot be described anything less than heroic, a young Norwegian nabbed the car thief before he could actually get away with it. The man woke up by engine start noise and ran to the street immediately, wearing just his underpants. The man managed the feat by flinging himself on top of car roof while the robber drove the car at around 90kmph.
The owner managed to hold on to the car and break the window with his knee while the thief made several attempts to shake off the owner from the roof by driving on snow and making aggressive manoeuvres. What makes this even more exceptional and heroic is that the 25 year old owner did all of this at chilling sub-zero temperature (-17 degree C). The owner sustained several rashes and cuts while performing the heroic act and did manage to save his car before it came to a halt hitting a safety barrier.
The police is still questioning the alleged thief who is also know by the authorities in other cases of crime and robberies. The police officer said, “Bruce Willis wouldn't have managed that and it's not something we would advise people to do, but now that he's done it - well, it's an incredible story". The identity of the young VW Passat owner has been withheld by the authorities.
