The Japanese automaker Honda is all ready to launch its much-awaited sedan, the Honda Accord Hybrid on 25th October. This will mark the Accord’s return in the Indian market after it had been withdrawn from the market in 2014.

The all new Honda Accord Hybrid will be driven by a four-cylinder Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC with a 2.0-litre capacity. It is coupled with two electric motors that is mated to an E-CVT transmission along with a lithium-ion 1.3 kilowatt battery pack. It is expected that the electric and petrol engines combined will produce around 196 bhp of power, 300 Nm of torque, and 23.8kmpl of fuel efficiency.  It might also come with a non-hybrid version which will have a 4-cylinder 2.4-litre petrol engine along with CVT and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of looks, the Accord Hybrid is expected to undergo some changes and will be endowed with redesigned front bumpers, new LED headlights, chrome grille and taillight clusters.

Interior-wise the Hybrid Accord will have a touchscreen infotainment system measuring 7 inches that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other notable features include reverse parking camera, power steering logic as well as Active Cruise Control and six airbags for safety.

The pricing of the 9th generation Honda Accord Hybrid will be on the higher side and has been so ever since its first launch in India in 2008. The car is expected to be priced around Rs. 28 lakh and will compete against rivals like the Toyota Camry hybrid. Bookings for the Honda Accord Hybrid has already been started with a down payment of Rs. 51,000.
