Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is testing the next-gen version of Honda Activa called the Activa 6G. The spy shots reveal that there are both cosmetic and mechanical changes in the Activa 6G. Activa has been a top seller in its segment and received a slew of updates over the period to continue to wreck the sales chart for the Japanese brand. The new Activa can get a BS-VI compliant engine keeping in mind the approaching emission norms deadline.
Honda recently updated its Grazia scooter, and also launched the CBS versions of CD 110 & CB Shine and now they are testing the 6th generation of Activa. The spy shots reveal that Honda has ditched the old and outdated trailing link suspension and has equipped the Activa 6G with telescopic forks. The scooter in the spy shot has disc brakes in the front and is equipped with alloy wheels.
The headlight and front of the scooter are heavily camouflaged, there's a possibility that Honda might have done a good amount of updates in both the parts. However, the tail lights seem to be carried from the current generation of Activa 5G. The scooter also gets a slightly updated digital-analogue instrument console with minor changes in the font of the speedometer. There will be minor changes here and there on the body panels of the scooter to freshen up the overall styling.
The scooter seems to be powered by a 109 cc single-cylinder engine, same as the Honda Activa 5G but this motor will be BS-VI compliant. The Activa 5G motor churns out 8 bhp at 7500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The BS-VI compliant motor will certainly increase the price of Honda Activa 6G, the ongoing Activa 5G is priced at Rs. 53,630 - Rs. 59,744 (All prices ex-showroom).
