The game changer from Honda, the Amaze sedan has come on top for the Entry Midsize Car Segment in the recent JD Power India APEAL study.
The APEAL study measured satisfaction of owners across 10 indicators like vehicle exterior, interior, storage and space, audio and entertainment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), driving dynamics, engine and transmission, visibility and driving safety and fuel economy. All this was measured on a 1,000 point scale.
The study was based on responses from 9,069 people who purchased a new car between November 2012 and July 2013. The car owners are quizzed between two-six months of buying their cars.
But it was Maruti as usual which shone through with the company being awarded as the best in the Entry compact car segment with the Alto 800, the compact car segment with the Estilo. The A-Star and Wagon-R were a close 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The upper compact car segment was awared to the Ritz and the premium compact car segment to the Swift. The overall average score of the industry has jumped to 845 in 2013, a slight increase of 9 points as compared to last year. The study says that many 13 per cent of car owners seem to have bought the car they did for solely how the car looked on the exterior. This is up from 8 per cent as compared to 2012.
