This year at the Detroit Auto Show, cars were not the only thing in the limelight. They also focused on various aspects of the way the general people perceive brands. They looked at various aspects of advertising and that included broadcast television, online, interactive, experimental, and print and outdoor advertising. Winners in these categories were judged by about 50 directors, journalist and the public, of which about 20,000 people cast online votes to pick the winners of these categories.
Out of all these categories, Honda bagged three awards. Hands bagged the Broadcast Honors, Sound of Honda won the Online category, and Illusions won the Public Choice. Besides Honda, there were others who won a few awards. Hyundai won the Interactive award with Driveway Decision Maker, Fiat won the Print and Outdoor with the "Letters"; ad and Toyota's Tundra Endeavor Campaign spot and BMW's A Window into the Near Future were co-winners for Experiential.
Honda was the clear leader in the categories with the total number of awards that it won. The others that won the awards were much appreciated by the crowd present at the announcement ceremony. The online votes were clearly in favor of the Honda ad called 'Illusions'
