Honda Cars India sales jump 17.8 per cent in May 2014

Snapshot: The best performer of the month was the all-new City sedan with total sales of 7,218 units.

Honda Cars India Ltd have reported an increase in domestic car sales by 17.8 per cent in the month of May 2014 with total sales of 13,362 units. The Japanese automaker had sold 11,342 units in the same month last year. 

The best-selling Honda model in the month of May 2014 was once, the all-new City sedan, which brought in sales of 7,218 units. The Honda Brio hatchback and the Amaze mid-sized sedan on the other hand, contributed with sales of 1,333 units and 4,752 units respectively. The Honda CR-V registered sales of 59 units. Lastly, the company exported a total of 518 units during the month. 

Remarking on the positive sales graph, Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president of marketing & sales said, “We are thankful to our customers for the continued support we have been receiving for the Amaze and the all-new City sedan and are confident that we will continue to do well in respective segments.”

Honda Cars India Ltd is now gearing up to introduce the all-new Mobilio MPV sometime in July 2014, while the next generation Jazz hatchback is expected to make its debut in early 2015.
