The sales report from Honda Car India reveal that a total of 16,758 units were sold in Aug '14 indicating towards a hike of 88% over 8,913 units sold in August '13. On the other hand, the FY sales totalled to 17.218 units, as compared to 9,469 units sold back in August last year.
If the numbers are further broken down into individual sales number of the products from Honda India, the credit seems to go to the compact sedan - Honda Amaze and the Mobilio MPV, which stood at 9,198 and 5,530 units respectively.
In a nutshell, Honda Cars Indian Limited could crack a growth of 49 percent through April to August 2014 with over 73,185 cars sold over 49,263 cars sold in April-August period in 2013. Surprisingly, 757 Honda City cars were sold in August, despite the fact that its production was stopped last month. Honda City production is reported to be resumed from September '14 first week. On the other hand Honda Brio made it through 1,211 units, whereas Honda CR-V could crack 62 units.
Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, stated that Honda is to see continuous hike in sales numbers from month to month. Also, with the festive season round the corner, further optimism is expected. Honda is certainly geared up for a good number of sales in the upcoming months.
