Honda has revealed its plan to showcase its half-litre sports bike, CBR 500R, at the upcoming motor show in India. The company has been in discussions since a long time about expanding their motorcycle lineup on the north horizon, in the country. The company also unveiled the CBR 300R and CBR 400R last year which both were also been in speculations to be introduced soon in India.
The Honda CBR 500R is a typical sports motorcycle that is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parellel-twin engine produces 47 BHP of power with torque output of 50 Nm. The 500R underpinned with the company's acclaimed diamond chassis frame with an overall weight of 193 Kgs. kerb weight. The engine is tuned to perform in a linear way for track riding which is suitable for cruising on average speeds too. Braking force comes from twin-piston caliper 320mm disc at front and 240mm single-piston caliper disc at rear.
The Honda CBR 500R will officially reach the Indian shores for the very first time. A new naked version of 250R has already been speculated for India, while the chances are also quite positive to fill the gap between 250cc segment and upcoming 500cc CBR with other mid-size models. The CBR 500R will uplift the ambience at the Auto Expo and expected to reach the Honda outlets by the end of first quarter of 2014.
