Snapshot: Honda CBR250RR is expected to get launched by initial months of 2017.

Honda has unveiled its much awaited CBR250RR motorcycle in Indonesia. Unlike its previous models, the new model is powered by twin cylinder engine. However, this new model is not a replacement of its existing CBR250R which is more of a sport-oriented motorcycle. Instead, the new “RR” is a supersport motorcycle. Surprisingly, Honda has maintained the designed the looks of the production version similar to the concept version which was showcased at 2015 Tokyo motor show.

Talking about its design, the Honda CBR250RR is developed by the Japanese manufacturer taking motivation from their bigger capacity sibling. This new entry level sports bike has an eagle-eye twin headlight along with LEDs DRLs that offer a sporty look and a race-style tail like CBR Fireblade. Overall, it is a sharp, edgy and a good looking sports bike that belongs to Honda’s “CBR” family. Its other notable features include, twin barrel exhaust system, tall windscreen, fairing panels that look sharp and edgy, split seats`, inverted forks at front, clip-on handle bars and fully digitalised instrumental cluster.

One of the major highlights of the new Honda CBR250RR is the technology like ride by wire, Anti-braking system and three riding modes- Sport, sport+ and comfort. Though the company has not yet revealed the power output of the bike, but it is largely expected that its twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 250cc engine will hit the redline at 14,000 rpm and produce close to 35-38 bhp of power . There is no official confirmation if this will be launched in India. If launched, it will rival against the likes of KTM Duke 390, Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. We expect it to be priced somewhere around Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
