Honda Cars India have reported a 75 per cent increase in domestic sales at 16,316 units in the month of June 2014. The company had sold 9,297 units in the same month last year. The star performers of the month for the company were once again, the all-new City sedan that clocked in sales of 7,723 units and the Amaze compact sedan that contributed with 7,075 units.
The remaining numbers were filled in by the Brio hatchback and the CR-V with total sales of 1,438 units and 80 units respectively. Lastly, the company shipped a total of 739 units during the month.
Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president of marketing and sales, Honda Cars India said that he was thankful of customers for continued success of the Honda Amaze and the all-new 4th generation City, expressing confidence in this sales trend being an on-going one in respective segments.
The Japanese automaker is now gearing up to foray into an all-new segment with the launch of the brand new seven seater Mobilio MPV. The commercial launch of the Mobilio is slated to get underway this later this month, while the pre-bookings for the people carrier is scheduled to begin this week across all company dealerships in the country.
