Apart from launching the new CB1000R+ and the 2019 CBR1000RR Fireblade, Honda has today also launched the new 2019 Gold Wing Tour GL1800 DCT at Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is available only in the Tour variant which features a dual-clutch transmission.
As per reports, the new Gold Wing has been improved on all technical aspects, it gets two SmartKeys instead of one, features Apple CarPlay, electrically adjusting windscreen, a 7.0-inch TFT colour screen, and full-LED lighting. Also, Honda has updated the system software on the motorcycle improving the overall interface experience for the user. For example, the new motorbike doesn’t turn off the voice route guidance even when the ignition is turned off and back on again. The company says that it is also coming up with new software updates for the older models to resolve this issue.
The new bike doesn’t reserve the upgrades just in electronics sense, but it also has a fair amount of mechanical upgrades. The use of new chassis has enabled it to drop some weight and gain rigidity. Also, it now packs a unique double-wishbone front suspension and pro-link mono-shock rear suspension.
It runs on a 1,833cc, horizontally-opposed, 6-cylinder engine which churns out 126hp at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. Also, the engine uses an advance four-valve-per-cylinder layout instead of the two-valve-per-cylinder configuration as seen on the last model.
It competes against the BMW K 1600 GTL Pro which retails at Rs 28.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
