Honda’s Jazz is perhaps one of the most awaited car in India right now. The car has already created much buzz and is expected to be a hit as soon as it is launched. Honda has scheduled to launch the car on the 8th of July. To take the maximum advantage of the hype, the company has just released a teaser video of the car and a dedicated website too.
The Jazz is a cab-forward design like the old car and it seems that it shares the platform with the City too. However, it cannot be ascertained. In terms of design, the car looks extremely sharp and futuristic and borrows lot of styling cues from the City.
The cab-forward design helps release lot of cabin space and makes the car roomier for the passengers. The car is would be extremely well-equipped and would feature goodies like navigation system, touch screen infotainment system, steering mounted controls etc.
The Jazz would come with two engine choices - petrol and diesel. The petrol unit would be 1.2-litre capacity motor that would make around 90PS of power and 109Nm of torque. The diesel variant would use a 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor that would make around 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines are expected to be extremely fuel-efficient too. Unlike the rivals, the car would also feature an automatic gearbox since it is based on the same platform as the Amaze.
The Honda Jazz is expected to be priced around Rs. 5.5- 8 Lakh. The car would compete against the likes of the market leaders of this segment- Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo etc. It remains to be seen how does the car fares against the YRA hatchback that Maruti would launch soon to take on the competition.
You can watch the promotional videos of the Jazz and register at the company website to get more updates about the car.
