Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) is one of those auto majors who have registered a considerable growth in their total sales last fiscal year, despite a slowdown in market conditions. The company has registered a growth of 83 per cent in its domestic sales and now to boost it further, the company has decided to expand its sales and service network in the country.

Honda presently has 170 dealers across 107 cities in India, which will be boosted by 35 per cent before the end of the ongoing fiscal year. Honda's reach is considerably strong in tier-1 cities and now, the company's focus will be mainly onto develop its reach in tier-2 and tier-3 cities in the country. Also, the Japanese automaker is gearing up to shelve out the 2014 Jazz hatchback and Mobilio MPV by the end of this year. A strong sales network would help the company to capture a good chunk of prospective buyers in the new models segments.

The launch of the Amaze compact sedan and the diesel-powered City has given a boost to the demand for Honda cars in India. Honda's total production capacity recently expanded to 2,40,000 units with start of production at its second plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan.
