Honda prepares to go deeper in the rural India

Snapshot: Honda's Mobile Service Van will bring Sales-Service-Spares to consumer's doorstep

We have done zillions of stories talking about Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's aggressiveness to make it grow by leaps and bounds. Well, all this while we didn't know Honda was so serious about increasing its market share. The latest development by HMSI includes introduction of its 'Mobile Service Van' initiative which will make customers' houses touch-points. This is Honda's move to go deeper in the rural sector. The Mobile Service Van (MSV) will be equipped to deal with Sales-Service-Spares anywhere it goes and is a part of Honda's Wave 2.0 strategy which aims at realising potential in the hinterlands.

Breaking the barrier of a mobile van being just a servicing joint, Honda has gone a step ahead combining servicing and dealership in truly mobile fashion. The van will have ample space for displaying a motorcycle, seating space for the customers, LED display, provision for test rides and public address system. Two service bays will also cater to the customers that need Honda technicians at their doorstep. Honda plans to have 11 Mobile Service Vans by the year end.

Announcing the arrival of Honda’s Mobile Service Van, Mr. Keita Muramatsu, CEO & President, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “As the only Honda, we are expanding our network into hinterlands. In fact 70 per cent of the approximately 1,000 touch-points that we aim to add this year will be in rural areas. The new Mobile Service Van (MSV) is designed to take Honda one step ahead of even where the reach of its last touch-point ends."
