Honda registers 26 percent hike in August '14 Sales

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) or popularly being called as Honda, has recorded a growth of 26 percent in its domestic sales for the month of August '14. The overall sales was also up by 32 percent from April to August in this fiscal year. Although, exports stayed a bit low but overall it quite a rejoicing news for the Honda folks.

The company sold a total of 2,17,866 units in the month of August, while it had managed to sell 1,47,600 units in the same month last year. It is an all time highest sales milestone for Honda. The Japanese automajor, as known, is the country's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer and holds 28 percent market share at present. Only, Motorcycles witnessed a growth of around 6 percent in the sales in August 2014 as compared with August month of last year. The company is also basking high in the glory of Activa scooter as last month it surpassed the sales of iconic Hero Splendor to become the country's all time most sold two-wheeler till date. Furthermore, the Honda Shine achieved the feat of touching the three million milestone sales wise.

The highly ambitious project of the company - the Dream series is also doing incredibly well as it recently conquered the milestone of selling one million units through out the nation. The company, in an awe of maintaining loyal customer base and widen its reach, ventured into retail financing by joining hands with Kangra Central Co-op Bank. Honda is leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and enhance its market share in the country. It recently launched a mobile service van campaign to serve customers up to their last destination, and it is a proof that the company is eyeing a larger market share.
