Honda to contribute Rs 3 crores for the J&K relief fund
Snapshot: Honda has promised a contribution of Rs 3 crores to the Prime Minister Relief Fund through all its group companies.
As reported earlier by us, a majority of the two wheeler manufacturer is coming forward to donate generously for the cause of J&K havoc created by the floods earlier this month. In addition to all the previous contributors, today a new name has been added to the list in the form of Honda India Ltd. Honda has promised a contribution of Rs 3 crores to the Prime Minister Relief Fund through all its group companies.
Prior to Honda, companies including TVS, Polaris and Bajaj Auto also came forward in order to help the locals of J&K who have been in troubled waters after the disaster took place recently, bringing fury in the form of floods in the valley. All Honda group companies in India – Honda Cars India Ltd., Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd., Honda Siel Power Products Ltd, Honda R&D (India) Pvt. Ltd and Honda Motor India Pvt. Ltd will contribute towards the reconstruction and recovery of the region.
Commenting on devastation, Mr. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer, Honda Motor Co. and President & CEO, Honda Motor India said, “We express condolences and deepest sympathy to all the affected people who lost their near and dear ones, their homes and their livelihoods in this massive calamity. We hope that this contribution will help in the restoration of the devastated infrastructure and help rebuild lives of the affected people.”
We appreciate the move by Honda and as earlier, support the cause. We also expect more auto manufacturers to come forward with such initiatives.
