Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. will launch the country's first BS VI compliant bike/scooter on June 12, 2019. The company has already sent invites for this special launch. The rumormill is abuzz that since Honda had recently introduced the Activa 5G limited edition, the all-new product, in all likelihood, is not going to be the BS VI compliant Activa 6G. However, it is fairly safe to assume that it could be an all-new product as scooters contribute to a significant chunk of total sales of the company.

The invite that Honda 2-Wheelers India had sent out, reads "PLEASE HOLD A PIN DROP SILENCE." The company has been rather mum about the developments happening and the details of the new product. However, it is for sure that the new product will certainly comprise of several advanced elements such as fuel injection system, electronic control unit, an O2 sensor, three-way catalytic converter and an onboard diagnostic module. In addition, Honda's official invite also says that 'be a part of A Quiet Revolution as the company is ready to announce the FIRST BS-VI two-wheeler". So, one thing is pretty certain that the company is inching closer to add an another lamdmark moment in its years long heritage and legacy.

Honda Activa 6G with BS VI compliant engine is not expected to launch before 2020.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s senior vice-president and operating head - Sales and Marketing, had said last month in an interview that the company is working towards studying the market trend and a buyer should be highly hopeful of the upcoming models. A first-in-segment feature that one could see in the new BS VI product is Bluetooth connectivity to the instrument console to access various features such as turn-by-turn navigation, caller ID and ride statistics. Although, it is already available with the TVS Ntorq but it will be a first for Honda. This new product will certainly be based on a new platform and would be sold at a higher price than the BS IV compliant models.
